Spring Has Sprung

Warm days and cold nights mean great spring conditions for "off-season" skiing and snowboarding adventures in Bear Valley.  Right now the spring corn is excellent for those tough enough to "earn their turns".  Above 8000 feet there is tons of snow which will be serving spring corn for at least another month.

The longer and warmer days of May are also making the prospects of mountaineering and rock climbing more appealing.  Check out the MAS calendar and see if anything suits your palette.  Keep in mind that you can always book a private instruction or guided adventure to match your own schedule and specific needs.

Thanks for the great "Introduction to Mountaineering" Course last year. My friend and I were able to summit Shasta and have a nice 2000-foot glissade down Avalanche Gulch thanks to the ax/crampon techniques we learned  (Owen Randell - May 2006)

MAS is still offering 1-2 day mountaineering training programs in Bear Valley on May 26-29 and June 8-11.

Upcoming Calaveras  & Hammer Dome Programs:
May 27-28: Calaveras Dome Camp
May 27-28: Multi-Pitch Seminar
May 28-29: Calaveras Dome Camp
Private Guiding also available with advanced notice

NEW - WOMAN'S ONLY ROCK CLIMBING SEMINARS

Back by popular demand are unique rock climbing programs taught by women for women.  MAS female instructors will lead these weekend seminars with eye towards providing an easy relaxed environment to learn and share information about outdoor rock climbing skills. This summer, look for two special weekends which offer "woman's only" rock climbing seminars.
