Bear Valley Adventure Sports Festival top

It’s time to unveil the Bear Valley Adventure Sports Festival coming up August 25-26, 2007.  This 2 day High Sierra celebration of human-powered recreation combines competition, education and community around the outdoor sports of rock climbing, mountain biking, road cycling and flatwater kayaking. Whether you "Pull, Pedal or Paddle", this is your chance to try a new outdoor sport in a safe and supportive environment. Events and comps for hardcores and novices. The Bear Valley Adventure Sport Festival is a must on your summer calendar!

SATURDAY - August 25th

•  Rock Climbing: Educational clinics, Kids Adventures & the “2nd Annual Boulder Bash” – an outdoor bouldering contest with cash prizes.
•  Mountain Biking: Introductory clinic and the “Grizzly Challenge” with 20 dirty miles of 3900 feet up & down. Get out your GGGRRRIZZ!
•  Road Cycling: “Ebbetts Pass Century” - 101 miles & 12,800 ft of scenic climbing; "Ebbetts Metric Century" - 60 miles & 6.500 feet of climbing
•  Flatwater Kayaking: Boat Safety Clinic, demos & “Island Relays & Sprints” at Lake Alpine.

As the sun goes down everybody is invited to an evening of feasting, prizes & shared tales of adventure at the BaseCamp Lodge.

SUNDAY - August 25th

•  Rock Climbing: More great educational clinics & climbing adventures with MAS's finest guides.
•  Mountain Biking: “Shuttle-O-Rama” – take advantage of vehicle portages to quickly access terrain
•  Flatwater Kayaking: visit the Union & Utica Reservoirs for scenic paddling & a deli-style lunch served on one of the many islands.
