| Backcountry Update: (12/29/2006) The backcountry conditions near Bear Valley are good. Yesterdays strong north winds transported a lot of snow onto the leeward slopes aiding coverage on the leeward (south) slopes. Significant wind slabs still exist on north facing slopes so use caution above tree line (more info.). |
